Solid Copper Cross, sand casted in our foundry. Oxidized and buff-polished in select areas. Copper ring for hanging. Measures to approximately 6"x4 1/2". All are individually handmade, and although sizes remain consistent, the shiny buffed areas will vary from piece to piece. Sand Casting is made from pouring molten Michigan Native Copper at 2200 degrees Fahrenheit onto open-faced sand cast molds. When they are cooled, a green or turquoise colored chemical patina is applied then highlights are buff polished to expose the glowing solid copper underneath. The items are sprayed to preserve the finish and to prevent the copper from tarnishing.
