Datolite is a borosilicate mineral associated with the native copper deposits in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. The characteristic ‘cauliflower’ shaped nodules range from 1 -12 inches in size. The whites and pinks are the usual colors and the rarest colors are yellow, orange, green and red. Occasionally there can be flecks of copper or silver in the stones.
